Speedfan 4.23 beta 8
SpeedFan is a freeware program that monitors fan speeds, temperatures and voltages in computers with hardware monitoring chips. SpeedFan can even access S.M.A.R.T. info for those hard disks that support this feature (almost all :-)) and show hard disk temperatures too, if supported. SpeedFan can even change the FSB on some motherboards. At the lowest level, SpeedFan is an hardware monitoring software, but its main feature is that it can control the speed of the fans (depending on your sensor chip) according to the temperatures inside your pc, thus reducing noise and power consumption. Most Winbond sensors and ASUS AS99127F support fan speed changing, as well as others from MYSON, ANALOG DEVICES, NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTORS and ITE, but the motherboard should make use of available pins. This means that if you have, say, a W83782D on a BP6 then you're ok. If you have a W83782D on some GigaByte's... you're not :-) SpeedFan works fine with Win9x, WinME, WinNT, Win2k and WinXP.Novità introdotte con questa versione SpeedFan 4.23 beta 8 (27 mar 2005) This beta adds full support for AMD64 (64 bit) platform. A new installer procedure has been written to handle new OS and the additional (and system specific) service (speedfan.sys). All the features are available. I/O support has undergone a deep rewrite. I would like to know if this beta properly installs on your system, if it cleanly uninstalls and if it properly works. I need reports from every Windows version. Please send me SEND REPORTs (the button on the INFO tab). This is the full installer, but remember that this beta is packaged with so many changes that great care should be taken before setting and forgetting it. This beta adds full support for ATI SB300 SMBus and Fintek F75375S too. beta 8 fixes an issue installing speedfan.sys service under 64 bit. Tool to attempt to set AAM on hard disks that support it 1.01 (15 dec 2004) This tool tries to understand which OS and which drivers do support the relevant calls that need to be done in order to set AAM (Automatic Acoustic Management) on modern hard disks. It works only on NT class operating systems. I'm not sure if it works on NT too, but it works for sure on Win2K. Unzip, run and then use the integrated tool to send me the report. Please, send me reports even from systems where it doesn't seem to work. Version 1.01 now properly identifies hards disks where AAM is available, yet disabled, and goes on with the test. Tool to explore SMBIOS area 1.02 (14 dec 2004) The most important reports are from notebooks. Please, send your reports. It's easy :-) This beta tool won't cause any harm to your computer. It simply reads, in a clean and polite way, your SMBIOS area and analyzes its structure. I'm investigating it to try to gather more info about temperatures, voltages and fan speeds from computers that do not expose them in any other way. Unzip, run and then use the integrated tool to send me the report. Version 1.01 properly parses and shows all strings and properly identifies the end of data. Version 1.02 extracts structures' handles. Tool to access SCSI HD temperature and reliability data 1.13 (18 feb 2004) Even if, since version 4.21, SpeedFan includes full support for SCSI drives, this tool is still useful as it allows me to see more data from SCSI drives. With the help of your reports I can try to find and show new info about your SCSI drives. This tool never caused any harm to any system and its low level code was included in the mainstream release of SpeedFan.
